Follow Your Courageous Star

“Follow Your Courageous Star” follows in the tradition of the friendship star quilts that danced in the ceiling of my solo exhibit “Long Time Coming: A Retrospective of O.V. Brantley’s Red and White Quilts.” The focus of the quilt is a single red friendship star block on a white background and bordered with red fabric.
The simple design is given depth and dimension by hand quilting, yo-yo’s, charms and lots of buttons. The word “courage ”is appliquéd in the center of the quilt.
The back of the quilt is a red and white inspirational words motif. There is a hanging sleeve for easy display and a label that documents the quilt.
This quilt is one-of-a-kind although it is part of a series. I signed it on the front.
