Waiting For Rainbows

Rain, Resilience and Rainbows, 78 X 90 inch appliqué quilt by O.V. Brantley, 2020. Pattern inspiration by Kim McLean. Custom quilted by Carolyn Duke. 1st Place Winner, appliqué category, 2022 East Cobb Quilt Show. Acquired by the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, GA for its permanent collection.

Now that it has been a week since the downpour of a disappointing election, a reminder from my quilt Rain, Resilience and Rainbows might be appropriate. Her message is that there will always be bad times in life. Survive the bad times and wait for the rainbows.

Rain, Resilience and Rainbows was inspired by times such as these. Even though it has been acquired by the High Museum of Art for its permanent collection, I keep her and her message close to my heart.

Disappointment is tough, but I always resolve to wait for the rainbows. I hope you will too. Meanwhile, while we wait, I hope Rain, Resilience and Rainbows will make you smile.😊
