Speaking Quilts at the International Quilt Festival

Speaking to students on a research field trip about enslaved people escaping to freedom. My quilt “Follow Me to Freedom” served as a teaching tool.

I was very busy at the International Quilt Festival. Each day of the festival, I presented four Gallery Talks: two each day for my red and white quilt exhibit Long Time Coming and for the Atlanta Quilt Festival's Good Trouble Quilts exhibit.

Speaking about the “Good Trouble Quilts — Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Congressman John Lewis” exhibit

I also participated in media interviews including The Quilt Show. Prior to the opening of the Festival, I was interviewed by the Houston Chronicle.

I met so many wonderful, curious people who loved both the Good Trouble Quilts and the Long Time Coming exhibits. What a cool way to spend my time!
