Rain, Resilience and Rainbows Exhibits at International Quilt Festival

Rain, Resilience and Rainbows , 78x90 inch applique quilt by O.V. Brantley, 2020. Photo by Ron Witherspoon. Pattern by Kim McLean. Custom quilted by Carolyn Duke.

My quilt Rain, Resilience and Rainbows is definitely on my mind today. I had planned a short vacation for this weekend, but the rainy weather forecast caused me to cancel. I am so sad about that, but I did not want to sit in a hotel room watching it rain even if the hotel is on a beautiful island. Rain Resilience and Rainbows reminds me that there will be many other opportunities to escape for a short vacation.

Meanwhile, if you are in the Houston area October 28-31st, check out the International Quilt Festival. There will be over 1200 quilts to ooh and ahh over, but I don’t want you to miss Rain, Resilience and Rainbows. She was juried into the In Bloom exhibit. I am so proud of her. Many thanks to Kim McLean for creating such a beautiful pattern and Carolyn Duke for doing the exquisite custom quilting for me.

The picture does not do this quilt justice even though Ron Witherspoon is a great photographer. Take a selfie in front of her and tell me whether you agree.
