On December 3rd as part of the activities held in conjunction with my solo exhibit Long Time Coming: A Retrospective of O.V. Brantley's Red and White Quilts, I participated in an Artist Talk.

Curator of the exhibit Tisha Smith asked the questions. I answered the usual questions about influences and inspiration for my quilts. I discussed the autobiographical aspects of the exhibit.

However, the best part of my Artist Talk was my Trunk Show. I shared some of my prize winning quilts with the audience and some that are not winners, but simply my favorites.

I think this was the best part of my Artist Talk. Quilters love to look at quilts!

As an added bonus, I shared my very first quilt! It is named O.V.'s Sampler, and it is sooo ugly. I hope it inspires others to believe that they too can become a quilter.

Long Time Coming continues through January 13th. I hope you will make plans to see it.
