Introducing The Wonders of Africa

The Wonders of Africa is the 8th quilt in what has turned into my “About Africa” series. First I made The Joys of Africa. I liked it so much I made The Beauty of Africa, The Drum Beat of Africa, The Adventures of Africa, The Romance of Africa, The Hope of Africa, The Heart of Africa and now The Wonders of Africa. I have so much African fabric, I may never stop!

Like the other quilts in the series, The Wonders of Africa is a quilted wallhanging composed of a wide variety of African fabrics. I appliquéd the word “wonder” in one block to carry out the theme of the quilt. It measures 39 x 45 inches.

I pieced it on my Janome sewing machine, and Maxine Moore machine quilted it.

The back of the quilt features a red and gold fabric. There is a hanging sleeve on the back for easy display and a label that documents the quilt.

After the quilt was bound and labeled, I signed it on the front. This quilt is one-of-a-kind.
