Introducing the Happiness of Africa

The Happiness of Africa is the 10th quilt in what has turned into my “About Africa” series. First I made The Joys of Africa. I liked it so much I made The Beauty of Africa, The Drum Beat of Africa, The Adventures of Africa, The Romance of Africa, The Hope of Africa, The Heart of Africa, The Wonders of Africa, The Abundance of Africa, and now The Happiness of Africa. I have so much African fabric, I may never stop!

Like the other quilts in the series, The Happiness of Africa is a quilted wallhanging composed of a wide variety of African fabrics. It measures 38 x 42 inches.

I pieced it on my Janome sewing machine, and Maxine Moore machine quilted it.

The back of the quilt features a brown motif. There is a hanging sleeve on the back for easy display and a label that documents the quilt.

After the quilt was bound and labeled, I signed it on the front and added a charm that reads “Today I choose joy.”

This quilt is one-of-a-kind.
