The Creativity of Africa is the 12th quilt in what has turned into my “About Africa” series. First I made “The Joys of Africa”. I liked it so much I made “The Beauty of Africa, “The Drum Beat of Africa”, “The Adventures of Africa”, “The Romance of Africa”, “The Hope of Africa,” “The Heart of Africa,” “The Wonders of Africa”, “The Abundance of Africa,” “The Happiness of Africa”, “The Fragility of Africa“, and now The Creativity of Africa. I have so much African fabric, I may never stop!
Like the other quilts in the series, “The Creativity of Africa” is a quilted wallhanging composed of a wide variety of African fabrics. It measures 42 x 47 inches.
I pieced and quilted it on my Janome sewing machine.
The back of the quilt is pieced using little orange elephants and the border fabric. There is a hanging sleeve on the back for easy display and a label that documents the quilt.
After the quilt was bound and labeled, I signed it on the front and added a charm that reads “Made with Love.”
This quilt is one-of-a-kind.
