I add to my Christmas quilt collection every year. This year I got an early start on my 2025 Christmas when I found a kit purchased long ago from a quilt shop now closed. With all the pattern and fabric choices made for me, the quilt came together quickly.

The border is a little harder than it looks. The prices are small and you must stitch with care to make the seams match up. The border makes the quilt, and it turned out to be a beautiful quilt.

I added the red border to frame the pieced border. After it was quilted by my friend Maxine Moore using a holiday pattern, I added red crystals to give it some holiday bling.

The back is a gold and orange African print. I try to incorporate African fabrics in my quilts whenever I can. There is a hanging sleeve on the back for easy display and a label that documents the quilt.

I signed it on the front and added a music charm. Even thorough it started out as a kit quilt, this quilt is special.
