Introducing Good Trouble Library

Good Trouble Library, 38 X 51 inch book shelf quilt by O.V. Brantley, 2022. Machine quilted by Maxine Moore.

Good Trouble Library was created so that I could be part of the Good Trouble Quilts — Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Congressman John Lewis. The exhibit is part of the 2022 Atlanta Quilt festival scheduled for August 6 - September 2 at the Southwest Arts Center, 915 New Hope Road SW, South Fulton, GA.

I love books. I wanted to honor the books Congressman Lewis wrote as I imagined some of the books that inspired him So I created a book shelf quilt. The quilt has book titles printed on the spines of the books as well as embroidered patches. It was machine quilted by Maxine Moore.

Antique book fabric on the back of the quilt carry out the theme of the quilt. A hanging sleeve added for easy display and a label documents the quilt.

I signed it on the front.
