Introducing Give Yourself A Happy Flower

I think happiness must be intentional. In other words you should think about how you can add a little bit of happiness to each day. Sometimes a flower is all you need to bring a smile to your face.

“Give Yourself a Happy Flower” is part of my “Give Yourself Flowers” series of art quilts. This series is a reminder that we should be good to ourselves and not wait for someone else to do it.

Give Yourself a Happy Flower measures 48 X 51inches. It is built on a yellow palette that starts with the beautiful flower panel created by Stephanie Brandenburg. An African inner and outer border adds intrigue to the quilt.

I pieced Give Yourself a Happy Flower on my Janome sewing machine, and my friend Maxine Moore quilted a flower pattern into the background on her long arm machine. The quilt is embellished with words, buttons and a charm.

The back of the quilt is a yellow fabric. There is a hanging sleeve on the back for easy display and a label that documents the quilt.

I signed it on the fron and added a charm that says, "do more of what makes you happy." This quilt is one-of-a-kind.
