Recently we organized a girls day out to take International Superstar Baby Addison to get her ears pierced. India, Brittany and I studied our calendars for weeks to make sure we could all be present when Baby Addison got her ears pierced. It really was a cherished memory as she experienced that split second of everything in the world is lovely to the loudest scream you have ever heard. She recovered like a champ and was strolled out of the piercing shop smiling and looking beautiful like she knew a moment of pain was worth it. Such foolishness must be embedded in our genes.

Meanwhile, unbeknownst to me, Brittany and India had decided that they too needed a piercing. India had allowed her second hole to close up so she got a second piercing. Brittany decided that her individual beauty style required a third piercing. (I was happy no one got a nose piercing).

All of this fuss about trying to look cute inspired a new quilt series. The name of the series is Look Good. Feel Good. Do Good. Each quilt in the series will include a beautifully dressed African woman. There are so many centuries old rituals we go through trying to look beautiful that I think this series may go on forever!
Thank you Baby Addison for the inspiration. You look amazing!
