Day 2 of our cruise was spent at sea as we travelled from Port Canaveral, FL to Amber Cove, Dominican Republic. There is a lot to do on cruise ships and Carnival Vista is no exception.
Of course there is unlimited food to explore on the ship, but I chose to take a tour of the ship’s brewery as my main activity.
Our brewmaster was very knowledgeable so the tour was very comprehensive. There was a lot of beer to be sampled!
I officially “graduated” from microbrewery beer school and left with a souvenir glass from the Red Frog Pub and Brewery.
Their Oktoberfest beer was my favorite — maybe because we were served directly from the huge brewing kettles.
Later I met up with Rosalind, Judy and Sherryl, and we did some serious Pandora shopping. Friendship charms were the hit of the day.
We all left with a charm that says “Friends are the family you choose”, along with other charms that just had to be bought.🤑
Dress code for dinner was “elegant” so we dolled up and had a fabulous dinner. I had a chocolate martini with dinner because “ why not?” 😂🍸
I also enjoyed the obligatory dining room Happy Birthday celebration because after all, I am celebrating my 70th birthday! The dining room staff and my traveling companions sang Happy Birthday to me, and I blew out the candle on my chocolate cake.
After dinner we enjoyed some raunchy comedy and called it a night.
It was a perfect day of having many choices and being free to do whatever I wanted. Isn’t that what makes life grand?
