As you know I am a proud co-founder of the Atlanta Quilt Festival, now in its 16th year. I spend as much time producing the Atlanta Quilt Festival as I do creating my personal quilts, so I was delighted that opening weekend exceeded all expectations.
Our crowd was huge. Food and drink was plentiful. Vendors made money. Attendees won prizes. Quilters won ribbons, and everyone enjoyed the collection of 108 quilts that comprise the juried exhibit and Part 3 of the John Lewis trilogy - Getting into MY Good Trouble - Continuing the Legacy of Congressman John Lewis.
Were you there?
Activities continue all month with classes, lectures, a trunk show and a road trip to the High Museum of Art. Details are on the web site. The Festival will end by announcing the Best of Show winner at the High Museum of Art September 7th at 2 p.m.
See you at the Festival!
