A Night Out at the Atlanta History Center

When I learned that the author of a new John Lewis book would be speaking at the Atlanta History Center, I knew I had to be there. The book is John Lewis - A Life by David Greenberg. The event was enjoyable on several different levels.

The author talk was well done. It was hosted by former First Lady of Atlanta Valerie Jackson. She had a lot of first hand knowledge to add to Greenberg’s research.

I was delighted to see my friends who have served on the board of the John and Lillian Miles Lewis Foundation, and I finally met Detria Everson, the new executive director in person. I also re-connected with some lawyer friends.

Of course I bought the book, and I am looking forward to learning new things about Congressman Lewis. It was a wonderful night of history and friendship.

Speaking of books, the Atlanta Quilt Festival’s “Good Trouble Quilts” book will be out in February.

My quilt “He Inspires Us With His Words and Deeds” is part of the “Good Trouble Quilts” exhibit and will be in the book!
