A Day at KaiLin Gallery

Girls day out at the KaiLin Art Gallery

I try to be intentional about supporting other quilt artists especially during Women's History Month, so when my friend Sandy Teepen's exhibit opened at the KaiLin Art Gallery, we had a good excuse to plan a girl lunch on Easter Saturday and visit the gallery. I had never been to the gallery before.

Sandy and I have exhibited together in the past at the Chastain Gallery, and we both exhibit each year at the Atlanta Quilt Festival so I have seen many of Sandy's quilts. However, I have learned that art can look different in different settings. In my opinion, Sandy's quilts were the stars of the gallery. They added a lot of texture and color. But there is a lot of art to see at the KaiLin Art Gallery. You be the judge when you visit.

We received an unexpected treat when the owner of the gallery serenaded us with a piano solo. It was beautiful and definitely created a permanent wonderful memory for me.

The exhibit continues through April 12th. The artist talk is April 6th at 5 p.m. The exhibit is worthy of your time.

Here's a peek at Sandy's quilts, but you know quilts are best experienced in person.
